Private Label (Oud Wood) from Tom Ford

Subtle but fierce is how I like to describe the ultimate man.

We all love a good smelling man. Especially one who is good with their hands and at peace with nature. Ladies, here’s a special treat to get it him just in time for the holidays.

@tomfordbeauty

Divine yet sensual Oud Wood by Tom Ford brings out masculinity in a man. It’s a soft, luxurious fragrance that works for men and women, making this an immense woodsy unisex scent.

Very relaxing and comforting without a harsh oud smell. Starts masculine and musky upon scents of exotic rosewood and cardamom, then transforms into a smoky oud wood blend besides sandalwood and vetiver. Sweet tonka bean and warm amber end in a sweet finale.

Unique and unforgettable with being exotically seductive.

Truly a favorite for the colder months in late autumn or winter. Our Wood carries a beautiful scent that reminds you of camping in the woods, and a little goes a long way.

Cloud by Ariana Grande

The number one perfume to hit stores earlier this year is ‘Cloud,’ a fruity floral gourmand by celebrity singer Ariana Grande. Combining the fragrance with the release of her hit single, “Thank you, Next,” it was sure to be a winning duo.

A luscious blend of creamy coconut and sweet pralines can have you floating on a cloud wrapped in warm and cozy feelings. The smell is nostalgic, bringing back fresh reminders of my childhood youth walking into FAO Schweets. Can we say whipped cream and cotton candy!

{Insert ‘Candy Man’ Song.}

This sweet and unique treat can turn any frown, upside down. The best part is the son of renowned perfumer Max Gavarry,  Clement Gavarry is the creator of this remarkable scent! He is also the 2004 Fifi Award Winner for Prada-Prada, which is the Oscars for the perfume industry.

Up to this point, Ariana’s scents have been classed as ‘too girly, light and sweet. Not Cloud, which is exclusive to her line opening up with bergamot, lavender, and pear, a warm heart of whipped cream, praline, coconut, orchid, and a finalizing base of wood and musk. A complete change to the usual is adding a whiff of a cupcakes ‘red icing’ and a hint of robust.

Pink Sugar by Aquolina’s

Can you remember some of your favorite smells back when you were a child – scented markers, newly spun cotton candy, even Bath and Body Works lotions and misting sprays (Cucumber Melon-yum!). Adulthood doesn’t mean we grew past our childhood favorites, our palates and sense of smell transformed, as our bodies did the same.

Launched in 2004, Aquolina’s Pink Sugar, paved the way in perfumes for both young girls and sophisticated woman looking for sweet smells and childhood nostalgia.

Tapping into your childhood, Pink Sugar mixes familiar aromas like vanilla, raspberry, strawberry,  Lily of the Valley, and caramel creating a gourmet elixir of pure satisfaction.

Pink Sugar Review

Bottle

A clear bottle of a wrap around lace ribbon. The cap is a lovely thulian pink shade, foiled wrap around pink ribbon with hot pink swirl on the caps top. Fun and Flirty, the bottle is tailored to ‘stand out’ in the crowd just as its essence. Pink Sugar comes in 1.0oz, 1.7oz, and 3.4oz at most retailers.

Packaging

A white cylinder tube lined with puffy cardboard-esque stock, resembling the colors and style of the bottle itself.

Notes

Top: Fig Leaves, Raspberry, Sicilian Orange, and Bergamot

Heart: Strawberry, Cotton Candy, Licorice, Lily of the Valley, Red Berries

The top three notes that really stand out are cotton candy, caramel and vanilla.

I can longer count how many times someone says it smells like fresh baked cookies or candy when I walk in the room. Pink Sugar brings a playful, mischievous vibe along with with the memories of grandma’s house when she just baked fresh cookies.

Landscape Scents by Bravanariz Natural Perfumes

Landscape Scents by Bravanariz

The term “natural” has been commonly used to mean “organic” and “genuine” and even “real.” However, true natural things are those that are in their original formation, untouched, and living unbiased and uncompromised.

A compelling alternative to traditional perfumes is a brand named Bravanariz. They offer three all natural “Landscape Scents” from the region of Emporda in Spain.

The scents are derived from gathering and harvesting actual plants, then distilling them, and having the formulation rest for 20 days. Finally, the captured oils, called Olfactory Captures, are bottled.

The three scents are:

Cala

A summer capture that is characterized as “dry and cool, soft and rugged.” It incorporates the salty, sea-line coast with intense plants during a warm summer.

Muga

The feeling of spring invokes fresh beginnings and revitalization of positivity. Named after a regional river, MUGA is the Landscape Scent that harvests rosemary, cypress, chamomile, and lavender.

Bosc

BOSC is a winter scent that is a balance of silent calm and invigorating enchantment. Think woods and mountains, and the shelter they will provide. Juniper, oakmoss, and pine.

Each of the three Landscape Scents is Bravanariz’s interpretation of mountains, plains, and seacoasts—the 3 most characteristic landscapes of the Emporda region, according to the brand.

Bottles

Each of the bottles is available in one size, 50mL (1.7 oz) that look similar to nail polish or an essential oil bottle. Simplistically designed, but functionally useable.

Packaging and colors

The boxes with each coordinating scent feature earthy depictions…a bright blue ocean in summer, spring’s lush greenery, and the changing forest of winter.

Quality

Unlike most fragrances, they are not rated as Eau de Parfum, Eau de Toilette, or Eau de Cologne because they are not. Remember, these are not perfumes, but rather they are 100% natural oil essences.

Where to find them?

By viewing their website, https://www.bravanariz.com/, you can order any or all of the Landscape Scents, or you can order a discovery pack containing three 10mL sample sizes.

Additionally, they offer an Explorer Kit to do your own harvesting of your own scents near home without making the trip to Spain.

Because the Landscape Scents do not contain “synthetic fixers,” they do not predetermine masculinity or femininity.

They change with body chemistry and coexist with one’s personal natural oils. In essence, they become one’s personal landscape.

Truly an innovative approach to incorporating nature’s natural landscape with our own earthly existence, we can bond with the environment in a new way. Is this something you have tried or are willing to sample? Let The Perfume Times know. We would love to hear your feedback!
